Hello from week two of the LA fires.
Andy and I went back to Santa Monica briefly for a doctors appointment (I’m 16 weeks and 3 days now) and the air is thick and dry. It breaks your heart to look over The Palisades and continue to see plumes of smoke and a deep grey murky sky.
We’re heading back to LA for good on Monday and are enjoying our last day of fresh San Diego air.
Both feeling at a loss for how to help, Jess Damuck and I decided to reach out to our brand contacts and put together basic kitchen care packages for those that lost their homes in the fires. It feels good to use this privilege we have to do something good.
The first things that came to mind were cutting boards, knives, 6qt pots, and silicone spatulas. All items to make soup. I guess subconsciously it was the first thing that came to us that says comfort. Something people need in this crazy time. And I’m not even talking about tomorrow, Monday the 20th!
